Samsung Electronics has joined forces with French firm Quividi to help retailers manage social distancing and safety in store.
The collaboration brings together Samsung’s content management and display expertise with Quividi’s audience and campaign intelligence capabilities so retailers can adopt a data-driven approach to digital signage by sharing store traffic data, mask detection and thermal scanning information in real time.
By combining South Korean firm Samsung’s display signage products with Quividi’s expertise in real-time digital signage analytics, retailers can deliver enhanced reassurance to customers and staff about their safety measures. With the ability to deliver mask detection and thermal scanning, along with store traffic data, the platform should help retailers bolster their safety and security protocols. It has also been designed to help businesses manage social distancing measures in store.
“Retailers are currently facing an enormous challenge when it comes to delivering the safety and reassurance that people require, while delivering on footfall expectations and creating a memorable customer experience,” said Drew Rogers, senior product manager for Samsung in the UK. “By joining forces with Quividi, we can deliver enhanced digital signage to our customers at a time when they need it most. From effective queue management to dynamic, customisable displays, we are committed to helping businesses make the shopping experience as safe and as enjoyable as possible. We believe information delivers reassurance and, in the changing world we now live in, you can’t underestimate the power of dynamic digital signage.”
To help manage store flow and ensure social distancing measures are adhered to, the Samsung and Quividi partnership provides retailers with technology that works by using data capturing hardware, such as cameras, to count how many people are entering a store. Quividi’s audience intelligence platform can then analyse these data and integrate with Samsung’s content management system to update digital signage automatically.
This data-driven dynamic content enables stores to organise people traffic, while real-time triggers and conditional scheduling mean display signage can be constantly updated, keeping people safe and informed with up-to-the-second data.
“As the pioneer of smart communication on digital signage screens, we have always believed in the power of real-time analytics tightly integrated with content management,” said Laetitia Lim, CEO of Quividi. “In those current challenging times, we’re proud to jointly launch with Samsung new solutions which enable retailers to safely welcome back visitors and engage shoppers with relevant data-driven brand messages”.
Samsung and Quividi’s display products have been through a rigorous process of technical validation to bring three options to market for retailers. Ranging from a basic package to a fully comprehensive system, the products are scalable and adaptable to the needs of SMEs, right up to large corporations. The functionalities and benefits of these packages are flexible.
For retailers opting for more comprehensive packages, Samsung’s content management system enables stores to create and edit predefined digital signage templates. These are customisable and, with Quividi’s platform, the content displayed can be data driven, adapting to suit the needs of continuously changing store traffic. It also provides retailers with the ability to show targeted advertorial and promotional content together with audience control advice and information.
The digital signage offered by Samsung also has additional benefits and safety features for retailers, including mask detection and thermal scans. Both these help keep stores safe. They can alert staff to anyone who is not adhering to government recommendations around the wearing of face coverings and help identify anyone who may have contracted and be unknowingly spreading the virus.
