The IoT M2M Council (IMC), the largest trade organization dedicated to the global IoT sector, would like to invite all parties interested in IoT security to a series of online, public Forums to discuss best practices for insuring safe communication between connected devices. The objective of the Working Groups is to develop a truly useful framework for establishing IoT security that benefits all IoT adopters, solutions providers, and other interested parties. The IMC forums will be broken into three working groups – one for Devices, one for Networks, and one for Cloud/App environments – representing each layer in the IoT stack. Times/dates for the Forums are as follows:

IMC’s Network Security Group: will discuss security of transmission, network access control, user policy, audit trails, ID access, network seclusion, subscription management, analytics, and disaster recovery.

IMC’s Device Security Group: will discuss identification of assets and product configuration, data protection, UI access control, OTA provisioning, and protection of the physical layer.

IMC’s Cloud/App Security Group: will discuss security of connection, authorization / authentication of endpoints, API security, patch management, SIEM and GDPR compliance, and disaster recovery.
