New Jersey retail technology firm Checkpoint Systems will be showing updates to its ItemOptix software at this month’s NRF Big Show.

The show (nrfbigshow.nrf.com) will run from January 14 to 16 at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York.

ItemOptix for Retail is Checkpoint’s RFID inventory management software. Available to retailers globally, the out-of-the-box product can be efficiently deployed with little effort, at scale. The software can be adapted by retailers or their integration partners to meet needs.

It is also available as an extensible software offering with DirectAccess APIs and SDK so retailers can build their own RFID-based applications. Already in 2023, a multi-brand retailer in North America has implemented RFID for its inventory management using the software across several hundred retail stores. This has, included using ItemOptix DirectAccess APIs to integrate RFID with its own store applications.

This RFID inventory management software covers every step of a product’s journey through the store, from receiving to restocking to sale. Not only does it help retailers manage their inventory in-store to maintain accuracy and increased on-shelf availability of stock, but its display compliance SaaS module capabilities lets it manage the variety of inventory examples on visual merchandising displays in real time. This ensures retailers have the right mix of products on display.

Since its release, Checkpoint’s engineers have added to the platform, expanding its features and capabilities to cover more use cases for RFID. These will be previewed at the show. Additionally, Checkpoint will be previewing some SaaS modules it will be releasing during the first half of 2024, extending RFID capabilities to more use cases to help retailers solve additional inventory problems.

“ItemOptix for Retail has proven to be a game changing platform for retailers in the small amount of time it’s been launched,” said Scott Reithmeier, business development manager at Checkpoint Systems. “Moving forward, I couldn’t be more excited about its limitless opportunities for use as we continue to expand its core capabilities and add new ones that will further provide value in a world that demands innovation to solve complex problems.”
