Texas-based TD Industries has introduced automated fault detection and diagnostics to optimise smart commercial building reliability and performance.

Called BrightBlue, it can help buildings conserve energy and resources, ensure consistent occupant comfort, and extend equipment life.

“In recognising our customers’ growing demand for data-driven building operations, we’re adding smart building capabilities to our proven building automation and controls, service and facilities and new construction offerings throughout the south west,” said CEO Harold MacDowell.

BrightBlue gives building operations teams a way to:

  • Connect and collect data from a facility’s central plant and HVAC systems, meters, sensors and the building automation system.
  • Model and simulate equipment operations; real-time performance data are monitored through a customisable dashboard.
  • Analyse and diagnose continuously to optimise efficiencies and performance.
  • Prioritise and act to address comfort, energy usage and equipment reliability to serve an organisations’ goals with data-driven decisions.

BrightBlue can be implemented across industries, including for schools and universities, health care centres, data centres, and office buildings. It is compatible with multiple software platforms and critical equipment systems and backed by TD’s 75-plus years of engineering, construction, technology and building operations expertise.

For a higher education user, BrightBlue detected 62 diagnostic faults in the first three months of implementation. The system can save the organisation an estimated $84,000 per year in energy costs, among other benefits.

“TD values its longstanding relationships with building owners and other customers, and the customisable BrightBlue smart buildings solution is a direct result of listening to and addressing our client’s needs with data-driven innovations,” MacDowell said.

TD Industries is a facilities service and mechanical construction company serving the south west of the USA. In operation since 1946, it has offices in Arizona, Colorado and Texas.
