Barcelona-based IoT antenna developer Ignion has added a digital twin prototyping tool and simplified integration of devices using multiple antennas to its Antenna Intelligence Cloud. The new extensions add cloud-based automation of IoT antenna designs with up to five radios and simplifying the development of smart IoT projects.

The new extensions to Ignion’s Antenna Intelligence Cloud are designed to support developers and providers of new products such as an asset tracker combining cellular IoT and GNSS, or a medical device that uses both BLE and Wi-Fi. They are designed to address growing complexity in today’s IoT market as the number of wireless protocols and certification requirements proliferate. Ignion’s Antenna Intelligence Cloud now provides a free, tuned digital twin, enabling engineers to obtain antenna design and performance testbed models of their profiles in minutes. This can eliminate the need to begin with physical prototypes.

Announced earlier this year, Ignion’s Antenna Intelligence Cloud currently has over 1,500 customers using it.

“The integration of IoT antennas is a difficult and time-consuming process that leads to failures in the design process and in field-deployed devices. Antenna Intelligence Cloud allows device manufacturers to confidently use standard, off-the-shelf antenna designs to ensure the success of their IoT projects,” said Tancred Taylor, industry analyst at ABI Research.
