International communications enabler BICS is exhibiting private mobile networks connectivity at the CES Show in Las Vegas this week. This is an addition to the company’s SIM for Things solution, announced in May. This enhancement to BICS’ solution builds on the addition of borderless 5G capabilities, announced in March.

The addition of private mobile network connectivity to BICS’ SIM for Things solution allows system integrators, OEMs, and hardware manufacturers to enhance their competitiveness with new compelling use cases for connected devices which function both inside and outside the private network on a single SIM, seamlessly moving between the two when required.

Combined with BICS’ global Private IPX & Cloud Connect solutions, the data generated by connected devices on the public network is securely transported to the datacentre of the private network, completely independently of the public internet. Hence, the connectivity stays private, even on public networks.

BICS’ SIM for Things solution comprises a physical and virtual SIM card, equipped with self-management capabilities and real-time Quality of Service data analytics. The solution provides seamless and borderless connectivity across 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE, 5G, LTE-M and NB-IoT, with coverage in 200+ countries. This allows enterprises to access more than 700 mobile networks worldwide, easily switching networks between public and private to capitalize on best quality and coverage availability.

In May, Gartner recognised BICS with a placing in the Niche Players Quadrant in its 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT Connectivity Services, Worldwide.

“We consider our positioning in the Niche Players by Gartner as confirmation of our mission to enable customers to connect any device, anywhere in the world, unlocking the power of a globally connected business,” said Mikael Schachne, CMO and VP for Mobility & IoT, BICS. “We continue to innovate to ensure our customers benefit from self-managed, seamless and borderless connectivity across over 200 countries. With the recent launch of 5G enablement via our SIM for Things solution, coupled with providing connectivity for Mobile Private Networks, we are delivering on our mission to create opportunities by connecting communities, by removing barriers to IoT adoption on a global scale.”
