Taiwanese firm Axiomtek has introduced an industrial ATX motherboard using a 12th generation Intel Core processor for AIoT applications.

The IMB540 uses the LGA1700 socket for the Core i9, i7, i5 or i3 processors, codenamed Alder Lake-S. It has quad displays and dual GPU expansion, delivering intelligent workload optimisation and scalable graphics for edge AIoT applications.

The board is built with Intel’s R680E chipset and has CPU options with the Intel Core, Pentium and Celeron processors. In addition, it is equipped with four DDR4-3200 ECC/non-ECC un-buffered long-DIMM slots with a total capacity of 128Gbyte.

This motherboard has five PCIe slots – two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and three PCIe x4 slots – for GPU, AI acceleration, frame grabber, NIC and motion control card configurations. The networking interfaces consist of a 2.5Gbit Ethernet LAN port with time sensitive networking (TSN), a GbE LAN port, as well as a PCIe mini card slot with SIM slot for wifi, Bluetooth and LTE connectivity. Featuring Intel Iris Xe Graphics, it supports up to four independent displays via HDMI, DVI-D, VGA and DisplayPort++.

For storage, there are four Sata 3.0 ports with integrated Raid 0/1/5/10 and additional storage is available via an M.2 Key M 2280 slot with PCIe x4 signal for NVMe SSD. The USB interface support includes four USB 3.2 Gen2, four USB 3.2 Gen1 and five USB 2.0 ports. The board is further equipped with four RS232, two RS232/422/485, eight-channel programmable digital IO, one HD Codec audio, one SMBus, and one PS/2 keyboard and mouse.

Likewise, to ensure performance across platforms, the motherboard can withstand an operating temperature from 0 to +60˚C. It supports onboard Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 to provide hardware-based data protection. In addition, it supports Windows 10 and Linux operating systems.

“The IMB540 drives excellent AI computing performance and serves with sufficient IO, high-speed interfaces, the capability of multi-display connection and flexible expansion slots that achieve adequate AI application in practice, such as medical imaging, video surveillance, computer vision, data analysis and so on,” said Kasper Tsai, product manager at Axiomtek. “Moreover, we have the capability to assist with any customer’s industrial integration requirements and achieve fast time to market.”

Axiomtek has also announced the GOT810-316, a 26.4cm stainless-steel fanless touch panel computer for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. To withstand high-pressure and steam cleaning, it is waterproof with an IP69K-rated stainless-steel enclosure and IP66-rated M12-type IO connectors.

This panel computer is suitable for applications requiring a durable and easy-to-clean option for extreme operating conditions.

The all-in-one unit is powered by the Intel Celeron N3350 processor. It has a 26.4cm XGA TFT LCD with projected capacitive multi-touch and 450 nits of brightness. The rugged fanless panel PC can operate under temperature settings from 0 to +50˚C and withstand vibration up to 2G. Plus, the stainless-teel panel PC is easy to set up with either Vesa or suspension mounting options.

“Axiomtek’s GOT810-316 is a full IP66/IP69K rated stainless-steel industrial panel PC suitable for hygiene and food applications,” said Wesley Lee, product manager at Axiomtek. “It has a SUS 316 stainless-steel enclosure, full flat front bezel, five M12-type connectors, and wide range power input of 12V DC or 19 to 24V DC for better reliability and more extended service life.”

It comes with one 240-pin DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM for up to 8Gbyte of system memory. It also has one mSata and one Sata for storage. The human machine interface supports two full-sized PCI Express Mini card slots for wireless connectivity and extra storage. It has abundant IO ports by using M12 connectors, including one RS232/422/485, one RS232, two USB 2.0 ports, one GbE LAN port, and one DC power connector. It is compatible with Windows 10.
