Industry 4.0 has never just been about software, networks and hardware. People are a key ingredient too. In Germany they devised the term Work 4.0 (Arbeit 4.0) to describe the human component, and the education that would be necessary to turn Industry 4.0 into a success. Now RealPars, an industrial education company, is focusing on the human aspect of industrial edge machine learning and predictive maintenance with courses and workshops designed to maximise manufacturers’ investments in industrial IoT and edge AI.

RealPars is one of the world’s largest online platforms for industrial technology education. They have teamed up with edge AI specialist Edge Impulse to develop new content on a range of advanced manufacturing tools and techniques.

Initially, the partnership will focus on predictive maintenance programming. They will employ RealPars’ training platform to show how Edge Impulse’s machine learning tools can optimise maintenance cycles on industrial equipment.

Edge Impulse is a development platform for ML on edge devices. The company’s platform is designed to streamline the process of collecting and structuring datasets, designing ML algorithms with ready-made building blocks, validating the models with real-time data, and deploying the fully optimised production-ready result to an edge target.
