The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) and the European Connected Health Alliance (ECH Alliance) are jointly supporting the Global Health Connector Partnership (GHCP) focused on advancing digital health transformation across the world.

Through a series of co-located events and activities, the Global Health Connector Partnership aims to amplify the work of their stakeholders and help bridge the gaps in digital health around the globe by seeking universal solutions to shared problems across the ecosystem. These events will bring together their respective members, networks and the telehealth community at large, as well as industry experts in Europe, North America, Africa, India, Latin America and the Commonwealth.

“The ATA and ECH Alliance share mutual goals and a vision for a future of healthcare that includes digital health to address some of our most daunting healthcare challenges,” said Brian O’Connor, chair of the ECH Alliance. “As the leading industry voice for telehealth in the USA, the ATA is a valued partner and collaborator as we work in other continents to advance digital health transformation.”

Ann Mond Johnson, CEO of the ATA, added: “What we learned during the pandemic is that global challenges require global responses. Further, we’ve learned that the challenges we face in the USA around disparities, workforce, staffing and climate are shared globally. This all just reinforced the importance of our work with ECH Alliance and the GHCP. As a leading industry convener and a founding member of GHCP, we look forward to addressing these and other issues at ATA2022 in Boston.”

The ATA2022 Annual Conference & Expo brings together decision-makers and thought leaders, boots-on-the-ground clinicians, forward-looking innovators and technology providers, and the policymakers who are creating the future. The Global Health Connector Partnership Summit will convene at ATA2022 from May 1 to 3 in Boston, Massachusetts.

The GCHP is a consortium of international organisations brought together by the ECH Alliance and allied in working together to share knowledge and find common methods for efficient use of digital technologies to improve healthcare delivery, access and outcomes across the globe.

The ECH Alliance connects 78 countries, 4.4 billion people and over 20,000 experts including government, health and social care providers, companies and start-ups, researchers, insurances, patient groups and citizens.

More than 300 organisations have sent a letter to the US Congress urging them to facilitate a pathway to comprehensive permanent telehealth reform that would provide certainty to patients and the USA’s healthcare providers while providing sufficient time for Congress and the administration to analyse the impact of telehealth on patient care. The letter was co-led by the Alliance for Connected Care, American Telemedicine Association (ATA), College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (Chime), Consumer Technology Association (CTA), Executives for Health Innovation (EHI), Health Innovation Alliance, HIMSS, Partnership to Advance Virtual Care, and the Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCH Alliance).
