Wireless networks have evolved dramatically with LTE. Operators around the globe have been upgrading at such as rapid pace that growth in traffic demand has exploded along with increasing consumer appetite for social media and data-intensive applications. LTE-advanced technologies and wireless networks can now offer peak data rates of over 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps), which is well beyond the data rates provided by traditional public internet options such as DSL. In the near future, 5G will usher in a new era of super-high data rates and ultra-low latency.
For the Internet of Things (IoT), this outpacing of wired technology has made it difficult for enterprise to ignore high-speed cellular. Early enterprise use cases for wireless were fairly confined to LTE failover. But with ubiquitous coverage, increased network throughputs, and sub-10ms latency, it now has the power to become the primary connection for distributed enterprises.

Marco Argenton, Head of EMEA Product Marketing, Telit
Marco Argenton manages product marketing for Telit’s cellular IoT solutions portfolio for the EMEA region. In his current role, Mr. Argenton’s charter is to identify new business opportunities and to ensure that go to market of the cellular module portfolio is aligned with corporate objectives, profitability, and what’s next. For over a decade Mr. Argenton has focused his work in the IoT space specifically, tracking trends and engaged in IoT technology evangelization. Prior to Telit, Mr. Argenton worked at hardware electronics organizations in EMEA holding product manager, project manager, and electronic engineering positions. He holds a degree in Telecommunications Electronic Engineering from the University of Trieste and has completed post graduate courses at the CUOA Business School in the areas of Innovation and R&D.
