The IoT M2M Council (IMC) – the largest trade group serving the Internet of Things sector, with 25,000 members – will organize its first full online conference for industrial users. The “Industrial IoT Online Summit” will take place 22-23 April 2020 and cover a wide range of industrial IoT subjects, including private LTE networks, edge analytics, data exchanges, 5G, machine learning, public clouds, blockchain security, low-cost connectivity, and much more. The IMC will promote the conference heavily to its membership of qualified enterprise users and manufacturers, but non-members may also attend and speak.

“With so many industry events cancelling in support of global COVID-19 containment measures, there has been a significant decrease in meaningful interaction between buyers and sellers of IoT technology,” says IMC Chairman and VP of Marketing at MultiiTech, Sara Brown, “In the interest of business continuity and in response to the needs of our members, we have decided to support alternative methods of interaction, in keeping with our mission as an industry accelerator. This virtual event will cover the heart of industrial applications, and, if it’s successful, we expect to introduce additional online events for consumer IoT infrastructure, as well.”

AWS, HPE, Tata Communications, and many more IMC board companies have already agreed to speak at the conference, which will include keynote addresses, invited speakers, and product workshops. Registration for qualified attendees at the Industrial IoT Online Summit will be free of charge and sponsorships are available. Live presentations will take place during business hours on the US east coast, but recordings of all sessions will be available to attendees around the world on-demand for six months.

“Although nearly 40% of IMC membership is in North America, we are a truly global organization,” says Brown, “As such, the on-demand aspect of this event platform is critical to allow members and adopters access to this important content. The live sessions, for those able to join in real time, will enable interactivity without the need to board flights or congregate in person in numbers beyond what global health authorities have deemed safe at this time.”
