US companies Idelic and Lytx have integrated their driver management and telematics platforms to help fleets manage safety.

Pennsylvania-based Idelic’s Safety Suite is a driver management platform for improving fleet safety, and California firm Lytx provides video telematics, analytics, productivity and safety products for commercial, public sector and service fleets.

Together, they aim to empower drivers and fleet managers with insights and a seamless, centralised and comprehensive view of driver safety.

Lytx has an array of customisable fleet management products and services powered by the DriveCam event recorder. Its proprietary machine vision and artificial intelligence technology can identify and alert drivers to risky driving behaviour with above 95% accuracy.

The company joins other third-party fleet systems consolidated into Idelic’s Safety Suite to help managers use their data, better understand the risk in their fleets, and proactively predict and prevent crashes. Current Idelic integrations span asset management, electronic logging devices, personnel, training, citations and violations, applicant tracking, and recruiting and pre-hire resources, to help trucking fleets streamline and optimise their technology deployments.

Through this integration, those using Safety Suite alongside Lytx’s driver safety programme will be able to connect their video telematics data automatically from Lytx to Safety Suite. By combining the video-based insights uncovered by Lytx’s video telematics technology with Idelic’s data organisation, AI and predictive analytics for overall driver risk, fleets can unlock a comprehensive understanding of their driver safety programmes and make more proactive and data-driven decisions.
