London (29 May 2025): Deutsche Telekom IoT has joined the IoT M2M Council (IMC), the largest trade group dedicated to the global IoT sector, to support its mission of enabling secure, scalable, and globally accessible Internet of Things connectivity solutions. As a leading global IoT connectivity provider, Deutsche Telekom IoT brings expertise in seamless, cross-border connectivity and robust security frameworks to the IMC’s fast-growing community of IoT adopters and solution providers.
The IMC represents over 28,000 qualified IoT professionals, including enterprise users, product makers, and solution vendors. By joining the IMC as a Sustaining Member, Deutsche Telekom IoT will collaborate with fellow leaders in advancing best practices, driving awareness around IoT security and interoperability, and helping enterprises scale digital solutions across borders.
“We believe global connectivity should be simple, secure, and future proof,” says Benjamin Bastians, CCO at Deutsche Telekom IoT. “By partnering with the IMC, we’re strengthening our commitment to transparency, openness, and collaboration in building a more connected world. We look forward to working with the IMC community to promote standards and solutions that remove friction and accelerate real-world IoT deployments.”
Deutsche Telekom IoT delivers secure, global connectivity through its own international mobile footprint and a broad network of roaming partners, covering all key cellular IoT technologies worldwide. A dedicated IoT core ensures scalability and reliability, while built-in security features – including SIM authentication, encryption, and compliance with GSMA and ETSI standards – protect devices throughout their lifecycle. This end-to-end approach allows enterprises to connect, manage, and secure IoT deployments globally with confidence.
“We’re excited to welcome Deutsche Telekom IoT to the IMC,” says Ellen Boehm, IMC Chair and SVP of IoT Strategy & Operations with Keyfactor, a provider of security platforms for connected devices, “Their global reach and deep technical expertise will be invaluable as we work together to address key issues facing the IoT ecosystem – from onboarding and device management to data privacy and trust.”
Deutsche Telekom IoT’s participation in the IMC will include contributions to working groups focused on security and global deployment, as well as thought leadership in webinars, publications, and international events organized by the Council.
