1NCE expands NB-IoT coverage in Europe
- March 17, 2021
- 1NCE IoT Flat Rate now supports NB-IoT in seven European countries
- Enables cross-border deployment for narrowband IoT solutions
- Extensive additional services for low power applications
Cologne, 03/17/2021 – 1NCE, the first fully-fledged operator of IoT network services worldwide, is expanding its Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) offering in Europe. In addition to Germany and Austria, 1NCE’s IoT Flat Rate now covers the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Italy, and the UK with access to NB-IoT networks. With the additional NB-IoT network coverage in Mainland China, 1NCE now supports the most relevant IoT core markets in Europe and Asia.
Deployment of narrowband IoT solutions now easier and more economical across countries
Thanks to the extended NB-IoT coverage, cross-border deployment of IoT solutions with 1NCE is now even easier and more economical. Be it for metering applications, such as in gas, water or electricity supply, asset tracking in logistics or sensors in waste management, smart farming or building automation: wherever devices need to transmit data independently and regularly without an external power-source on consumption, position, movement, fill level or temperature, NB-IoT is the perfect choice thanks to its energy efficiency and optimised range and penetration.
“NB-IoT is a core technology for the Internet of Things,” says Alexander P. Sator, CEO of 1NCE GmbH. “The fact that we now also support NB-IoT across countries allows our customers to take full advantage of the benefits of NB-IoT technology combined with the simplicity of our offering.”
Markus Bullinger, Business Development Manager at Arrow Electronics, a global provider of products, services and solutions for commercial users of electronic components, confirms: ” We see a strongly growing demand for European-wide IoT solutions in logistics projects with our integration partners in the field of Operational Technologies. We can address this now perfectly with 1NCE and solutions from our partners such as BOX ID.”
“For us, this expansion comes just at the right time,” adds Wolfgang Vogl, Managing Director of BOX ID Systems GmbH, a German based provider of tracking solutions for monitoring industrial supply chains. “We hardly have a use case that only takes place within national borders. With the new cross-country offer, we can now connect our solution very easily with 1NCE via NB-IoT or LTE-M and reach the most important markets in Europe.”
1NCE IoT Flat Rate offers more than just connectivity
With the 1NCE management platform, IoT developers and solution providers get advanced value-added services at no extra cost, for example the Data Broker, which is designed for energy sensitive IoT applications. It allows to translate communication into lean transport protocols such as UDP or CoAP that can easily be adapted into cloud platforms such as AWS. This further increases the battery life of IoT devices.
Maximum added value at the best price
For a one-time fee of 10 euros, IoT devices can communicate via cellular networks for 10 years, and thus mostly throughout their entire life cycle. Included in the tariff are 500 MB data volume and 250 SMS, available at a single price in over 100 countries around the world. The multimode SIM card developed by 1NCE enables a smooth transition between different communication standards such as 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE-M and NB-IoT. There are no additional costs for roaming or setup. This allows for easy and economical implementation of connectivity into smart solutions.
Try 1NCE for free for 12 months
Business customers can test 1NCE for free exclusively in AWS Marketplace: With 1NCE For All, customers can order up to 100 free SIM cards with 12 months of connectivity. The offer includes 50 MB of data volume and coverage in Europe, USA, Russia, and China. There is no automatic contract renewal after the 12 months.
The 1NCE IoT Flat Rate can be ordered via the 1NCE Online Shop or the AWS Marketplace. The SIM cards are delivered already activated within a few working days. To date, 1NCE has over 4,000 customers with 5 million active connections worldwide.
1NCE GmbH is the first fully-fledged IoT network carrier in the world to offer fast, secure, and reliable connectivity services at low cost based on an IoT flat rate. This makes IoT applications such as tank maintenance, smart metering, or vehicle telematics affordable. The 1NCE IoT Flat Rate includes 500 MB data volume, 250 SMS, and free access to the 1NCE Connectivity Management Platform via Internet and API. To provide the service, 1NCE cooperates with both Deutsche Telekom AG and its roaming partners as well as China Telecom Global Limited and supports all common mobile communications standards (2G, 3G, 4G, NB-IoT). In addition to direct sales of IoT mobile connectivity, 1NCE also offers its technology to mobile network operators via a Platform-as-a-Service solution. The company headquartered in Cologne offers its flat rate almost world-wide. 1NCE was founded in 2017 together with Deutsche Telekom AG and has 100 staff in Cologne, Hamburg, London, Rome, Paris, and Riga.
