Polish convenience store chain Żabka Polska has opened a hybrid autonomous and non-autonomous store in Warsaw.

Żabka Non Stop is a store that operates from 6am to 11pm like a standard Żabka branch with a food court, services and a full range of products. However, at night, from 11pm to 6am, the store turns into an autonomous Żabka Nano.

Entry is possible using a payment card or the Żappka mobile app with a payment card connected to Żappka Pay, and purchases are unattended and cashless. This means that during the night at Żabka Non Stop, shoppers just need to take selected products from the shelf and leave.

The store uses autonomous retail technology from California-based AiFi (aifi.com).

At all times, Żabka’s own brand products, such as Szamamm ready meals, Tomcio Paluch sandwiches, Foodini liquid snacks, Wycisk juices and lemonades, and hot, freshly ground coffee from an espresso machine, are available.

“For 25 years, Żabka’s priority has been to create value for our customers,” said Adam Manikowski, managing director of Żabka Polska. “New store formats not only meet their needs, but also simplify life and free up time.”

New store concepts are created with the active participation of Żabka (www.zabka.pl) franchisees, for whom the opportunity to run a store in a new format is an opportunity to develop their business.

The first Żabka Non Stop is in Warsaw, and its sales floor area is 46m2.
