Israeli wireless power company Wi-Charge is helping Dolphin Digital power its retail displays fitted with smart sensors.
Texas-based Dolphin specialises in the retail media networks (RMN) with a focus on in digital-out-of-home (DooH) advertising. This collaboration integrates Wi-Charge’s wireless power technology into Dolphin’s retail displays, creating a wireless DooH with smart sensors for retail environments.
Embedding Wi-Charge’s long-range wireless power system directly into Dolphin’s display removes traditional installation barriers by eliminating the need for power cords or battery replacements. The displays can now be placed in high-traffic retail locations and high-margin categories, including on glass cooler doors or on store shelves right next to products, enabling brands and retailers to position high-impact video ads exactly where purchase decisions happen. These displays can not only deliver content without a power chord but also integrate sensors that can track consumer behaviour.
The displays will be deployed in 4000 stores in major metropolitan hubs such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Washington DC, Chicago, Miami and Dallas.
As part of this rollout, Dolphin will integrate Wi-Charge’s technology into its displays and deploy them in thousands of retail locations over the next 30 months, starting with Affordable Buying Group’s (ABG) network of 900 convenience stores. This will enable local promotions for beverage brands such as Pepsi and Dr Pepper, delivering a continuous stream of engaging, targeted ads at the critical point of purchase.
“The biggest challenge for deploying digital displays in retail has always been power,” said Josey George, CEO of Dolphin Digital. “By integrating Wi-Charge’s wireless power technology directly into our displays, we eliminate those barriers and make DooH advertising more scalable, efficient and effective. This is a game-changer for retail media networks.”
Ori Mor, chief business officer of Wi-Charge, added: “Dolphin Digital’s adoption of Wi-Charge’s wireless power technology is transforming in-store advertising. Historically, wiring constraints have limited where digital screens can be placed. Now, with Dolphin Digital leveraging our wireless power system in their displays, we’re unlocking eye-level engaging digital media in new premium advertising spaces, giving brands a powerful way to amplify their digital activity to the physical space and to connect with consumers at the critical moment of purchase. This is the Google Ads of the physical space.”
Wi-Charge (www.wi-charge.com) specialises in long-range wireless power to consumer and commercial devices, designed to enable automatic charging of smart mobile devices, digital displays and a wide range of other electronics.
