Walmart is deploying digital shelf labels from French company Vusion in all its 4600 US stores.
Vusion will deploy its EdgeSense and VusionCloud technology across 2300 additional stores.
Vusion Group specialises in digitalisation for commerce. It has signed a contract extension to accelerate the deployment of its technology across all Walmart’s 4600 US stores.
‘’We are pleased with the results of the programme rollout this year and are looking forward to further expanding to more stores,” said Greg Cathey, senior vice president at Walmart (www.walmart.com). “Digital shelf labels have been a game-changer and simplify the daily activities of our store teams, while providing a better shopping experience for our customers.”
EdgeSense and VusionCloud were integrated into Walmart stores to empower associates with increased productivity, simplified stock replenishment and faster online order picking. With a launch of the programme in almost 500 stores, Walmart is now accelerating the pace of store installations and ready to deploy these benefits across all its stores.
“Helping Walmart in their store digitalisation journey has been a privilege for us so far,” said Philippe Bottine, CEO for Vusion in the Americas. “We invent technologies to transform physical retail, enable sustainable innovation and make a positive impact on society. This partnership is all about helping Walmart progress on their digital transformation journey, as well enhancing the associate and shopper experiences.”
The order is worth around €1bn.
The VusionCloud platform is a retail IoT management product for tracking, monitoring and managing digital price tags and IoT devices from anywhere, anytime. EdgeSense is a digital shelf system that integrates centralised communication, precise geolocation and device-to-device communication.
