Milesight has combined LoRaWan sensors, its UG6x LoRaWan gateway and an IoT cloud service to improve indoor air quality in supermarkets and increase safety using ambience monitoring.

As Covid-19 continues, countries and regions are trying to protect people’s health from the pandemic. The virus spreads mainly through the air and leaves an infected person as they breath, cough or speak. To curb the spread of Covid-19, emerging IoT technology can help. The preventive measures not only include wearing masks in public and hand washing, but also keeping social distancing and air-filtering when people gather indoors.

Chinese firm Milesight’s answer suits most indoor places. For example, supermarkets are places where people find it difficult to keep social distancing and maintain ventilation. They are expected to have more measures to increase indoor safety.

The supermarket ambience monitoring system suits shoppers and workers under the threat of Covid-19. It integrates the latest technology into the AM100 indoor ambience LoRaWan sensor to achieve all-round monitoring for indoor activities.

The system can perform indoor measurements including temperature, humidity, PIR (motion), CO₂, TVOC, barometric pressure and light. The AM107 also offers real-time monitoring status and value displayed on its e-ink screen.

With two AA alkaline batteries, it provides a use life of up to a year. There is an option to collect and upload data to the Milesight IoT cloud via the UG6x LoRaWan gateway. Users can visualise data on the cloud and take prompt response to bad air quality and limited social distancing.

Milesight was formed through the merger of Milesight, Ursalink and Yeastar late last year.
