Ekoplaza, the largest organic supermarket chain in the Netherlands, is deploying Vusion’s technology to enhance store efficiency and sustainability.
French firm Vusion Group is rolling out of its multicolour smart electronic shelf labels (ESLs) and platform at Ekoplaza following a pilot installation last year in Den Bosch. The Dutch pioneer in sustainable retail will now implement Vusion’s technology across its stores.
“At Ekoplaza, we are committed to ensuring efficient and effective processes that align with our dedication to quality and sustainability,” said Luc Heijl, omnichannel manager of Ekoplaza. “Vusion will enable us to enhance our store operations, provide clearer product information, and support our core values. By improving the customer experience and achieving cost savings and efficiency, we can continue to offer high-quality, eco-friendly products to consumers.”
The Vusion platform will enable Ekoplaza to manage and update ESLs remotely, ensuring pricing accuracy and efficient in-store communications across all locations in a secure environment. This will save time for shop staff, allowing the retailer to focus on maintaining the quality and ethical sourcing of its products.
Additionally, ESLs will automatically trigger out-of-stock notifications through a display update to inform consumers and staff. Ekoplaza (www.ekoplaza.nl) is also set to explore additional features in the future, such as pick-to-light, to improve the in-store ecommerce order preparation.
“We are excited to collaborate with Ekoplaza on their digital transformation journey,” said Sébastien Fourcy from Vusion. “Our cloud platform and ESL will enable the Dutch retailer to streamline operations, enhance the shopping experience and uphold their commitment to sustainability. This partnership marks a significant step forward in our mission to create a positive impact across the Emea region.”
The integration with Cisco Meraki’s wifi infrastructure (meraki.cisco.com) will facilitate faster deployment and reduce costs and the carbon footprint of the implementation as there is no need for extra hardware. Additionally, the use of recycled plastic in ESLs and their fixtures, along with sustainable cloud hosting by Microsoft (www.microsoft.com), aligns with Ekoplaza’s ESG commitments.
Vusion (www.vusion.com) serves more than 350 large retailer groups in Europe, Asia and North America. By leveraging IoT and data technologies, it empowers retailers to re-imagine their physical stores into efficient, intelligent, connected and data-driven assets.
