Swedish firm Wyld Networks has launched a satellite tracker that uses GPS location data for asset tracking.
The Wyld Connect AT452 is for location-based tracking using the power of low Earth orbiting satellites to provide global network coverage. Following successful trials in South America, Wyld is commencing deployment, starting with Brazil.
If a business needs to know the location of assets in transit, of assets that are on the move continuously, regularly or infrequently then the AT452 satellite tracker with low power consumption can deliver asset location data to end applications.
No additional ground infrastructure is needed. The data transmitted via the tracker are received directly through the satellite constellation, eliminating the need for extra ground-based infrastructure.
By exploiting satellite networks, vast areas of otherwise uncovered land and at sea are now reachable, removing the complexities of managing multiple country service contracts and roaming fees, providing a single, simple option.
By leveraging Wyld Networks IoT satellite network, the tracker offers a low-cost, reliable one-way data communication option for the asset tracking market.
The tracker streamlines the process of adding satellite IoT GPS data capabilities to assets in remote locations, offering a reliable, cost-effective and globally applicable offering for asset tracking. Use cases include deployments with containers, pallets, unmanned floating platforms, buoys and agricultural equipment.
“The new AT452 satellite tracker solves a major known business challenge across multiple vertical markets of how to collect GPS data on the 85% of the Earth’s surface that has no cellular coverage,” said Alastair Williamson, CEO of Wyld Networks. “This solves this issue and will enable other sensor data such as temperature, pressure and humidity to be related to location.”
Wyld Networks (www.wyldnetworks.com) develops and sells wireless technology that enables affordable connectivity anywhere in the world, addressing the problems for businesses and people regarding the lack of global mobile network coverage.
