IoT and AI-powered logistics intelligence firm Willog plans to modernise the Indonesian logistics market.
The South Korean company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Cold Chain Association (ICCA or ARPI).
Leveraging Willog’s K-Logistics expertise, this partnership aims to modernise Indonesia’s cold chain infrastructure in support of major national goals, including Indonesia’s National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) and the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
Given Indonesia’s difficult geography, consisting of approximately 17,000 islands, modernising its logistics system is a critical government priority. The cold chain industry is experiencing rapid growth, creating an urgent need for technology standards and robust infrastructure. The partnership between Willog and the ICCA is designed to help address these problems by introducing monitoring technology standards tailored for the Indonesian market.
Willog will deploy its IoT and AI technology through the collaboration, offering real-time monitoring of environmental factors such as temperature and impact to reduce risks and costs. This ensures data transparency and builds business trust.
Proven in South Korea, Willog’s technology is used by logistics corporations and government entities, including the South Korean Army (www.iotm2mcouncil.org/iot-library/news/smart-logistics-news/willog-automates-south-korean-army-logistics). This technology is expected to improve Indonesia’s logistics efficiency and reliability, reducing waste and safeguarding sensitive goods.
“This MoU is more than a simple technology partnership,” said Jihyun Yoon, co-CEO of Willog (www.willog.io). “It represents a meaningful opportunity for us to contribute to Indonesia’s national vision of building the NLE. We are committed to leveraging Willog’s proven technology to help establish cold chain monitoring standards in Indonesia and lead logistics innovation across the Asean market as a representative of K-Logistics.”
ICCA chairman Hasanuddin Yasni added: “Willog’s advanced cold chain will be a great asset in modernising the Indonesian market.”
He confirmed that the ICCA (arpionline.org) would contribute its expertise and market data while collaborating with government bodies to ensure the project’s success. As a next step, the two organisations plan to launch pilot projects in high-value sectors such as seafood and pharmaceuticals to develop technology optimised for Indonesia’s logistics landscape.
