MAS Kargo, the air cargo division of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), has selected Unisys and its logistics optimisation technology to enhance its operational efficiency, capacity use and service delivery.

Like many in the air cargo industry, MAS Kargo faces problems with time-consuming planning and loading processes that result in underused space on flights, missed revenue opportunities and even damage to shipments. To meet its customers’ demands globally, MAS Kargo has chosen Unisys logistics optimisation.

“Investing in advanced technologies like Unisys logistics optimisation will allow us to cement our position as an industry leader,” said MAS Kargo CEO Mark Jason Thomas. “Its ability to replan in near-real time gives us the agility to manage disruptions and maximise our assets.”

MAS Kargo wanted to empower its sales team to fill planes proactively to drive additional revenue, as well as reducing costs associated with ground handler labour. The technology also lets it limit claims, damages and the risk of non-compliance due to human error, and improve fuel efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint.

The technology (www.unisys.com/solutions/enterprise-computing/unisys-logistics-optimization) turns complex data into insights by leveraging diverse computing methods and pre-trained AI models to optimise load use, routing and inventory for air cargo, ground handlers and freight forwarders.

“Our logistics optimisation is perfect for MAS Kargo, addressing their air cargo challenges for faster decision-making and capacity optimisation,” said Chris Arrasmith, senior vice president at Unisys.
