Slovenia Post has adopted Sigfox 0G technology for the tracking and geolocation of rolling containers using an IoT approach.

During last month’s 0G Operator Days event in Labege, France, Sigfox operator Heliot signed the contract with Slovenian Post

The innovative part of the pilot project is related to monitoring postal roller cages with the convergence of different technologies including Sigfox to support sustainable logistic services.

The deal was signed by Heliot COO Tomáš Pavlíček and country manager for Slovenia Blaž Golob.

“Signature of this contract and also negotiations with other European postal operators show that our solutions have the potential to be industry standard for monitoring of non-powered trolleys in the postal industry,” said Pavlíček. “Nevertheless, our goal is to connect millions of returnable and reusable packaging units in coming years in all industry sectors with our technology-agnostic embedded solutions.”

The signature was backed by Henri Bong, co-CEO of UnaBiz, owner of Sigfox.

With the support of Heliot’s Munich technical team, Prague IoT network optimisation team, and Box/ID expertise, the project will test services for optimisation. An additional international dimension of the project is given by the Heliot Slovenia team who will work on the ground for the smooth execution of the pilot.
