UST Global is working with GreyOrange to develop intelligent robots for warehouse and supply chain automation. The partnership will implement the GreyOrange fulfilment operating system for clients across retail and logistics industries.
Atlanta, Georgia-based GreyOrange is a software and mobile robotics provider that leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to optimise fulfilment operations. It integrates software and robots built together into a fulfilment operating system that continuously solves distribution centre problems.
The partnership is part of the UST’s AI-first agenda, which leverages technology to offer digital products that optimise cost and improve turnaround and the customer experience. The retail and logistics industries should benefit from the joint offering, which provides them with robotics deployment for material handling coupled with the ability of California-based UST to implement and integrate complex technologies in a retailer’s IT landscape.
“Material handling efficiency inside the distribution centre is a key issue faced by the supply chain teams, especially at retail companies,” said Subhodip Bandyopadhyay, general manager at UST. “GreyOrange offers a robust yet flexible solution, where we will see a rise in our positive customer experience leading to a 3x gain in productivity. This is applicable even for complex operations in ecommerce fulfilment centres, where they can adopt the GreyOrange fulfilment operating system.”
The GreyOrange fulfilment operating system incorporates GreyMatter intelligence as a learning layer in the Ranger robot series. The Ranger robots communicate with each other and with the GreyMatter central system to recalculate order fulfilment priorities and inventory movement patterns continuously.
The entire mechanism is based on real-time factors such as order fulfilment commitments, factual fulfilment speeds, available resources and time remaining in dispatch windows.
“Our partnership with UST Global allows us to strategically scale our business,” said Monty Waltz, head of global sales for GreyOrange. “They have extensive experience delivering technology-based solutions, and together we create a powerful offering that provides the best service to clients that need to improve order fulfilment throughput, scale, accuracy and economics.”
GreyOrange modernises order fulfilment through artificial intelligence-driven software and mobile robots built together so they cooperate in deciding on and executing warehouse activities that increase payoffs and reduce tradeoffs to improve yield. The company’s fulfilment operating system driven by GreyMatter software considers predictive and real-time data regarding orders, promises, inventory, shipping windows and resources to orchestrate how workers and robots work as a team to fulfil the right orders at the right time.
GreyOrange has core operations in the USA, Singapore, Germany, Japan and India.
Operating in 25 countries, UST delivers future-ready digital transformation strategy services, products and platforms that create possibilities in banking and finance, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, semiconductor, technology and media.
