Since partnering with ESmart last year, GenOx Transportation, a Texas-based hazmat carrier serving the industrial gas industry, says it has experienced a dramatic improvement in fleet safety.

By deploying ESmart’s dynamic speed management system across its company fleet, GenOx has reduced safety-related incidents, optimised driver coaching and eliminated speeding violations.

“In our first year, ESmart’s technology has helped us achieve measurable improvements in safety,” said Chris McCarty, vice president at GenOx Transportation. “Since implementing the system, we have had zero speeding citations or CSA violations in the units we have installed. In addition to eliminating speeding events, it has greatly reduced critical safety incidents, including preventing a rollover accident and significantly cutting down on dashcam alerts, for example, following too closely and unsafe lane changes. This has allowed our safety team to focus their time more efficiently, reducing the hours spent reviewing and coaching drivers on avoidable incidents.”

As a specialised hauler of compressed and liquefied industrial gases – including nitrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, helium, CNG and LNG – safety remains at the core of GenOx’s operations. Beyond speed management, the company is also leveraging ESmart’s remote vehicle immobilisation feature to prevent unauthorised vehicle use and enhance security measures.

“Our partnership with GenOx demonstrates the power of proactive fleet safety management,” said Joe Thell, senior vice president at ESmart. “Their results speak volumes. Not only have they eliminated speeding violations, but they have also drastically reduced other risky driving behaviour. We are proud to support their commitment to keeping their fleet and the public safe.”

The dynamic speed management system uses GPS-based technology to monitor asset locations in real time and automatically adjust vehicle speeds to stay within predefined safe limits. The system seamlessly integrates with each truck’s ECU, enabling fleets to enforce speed-controlled geofences, receive real-time verbal notifications and ensure consistent speed limit compliance for safer operations.

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Deer Park, Texas, GenOx Transportation (www.genoxtransportation.com) specialises in hauling compressed and liquefied industrial gas products.

Indianapolis and Montreal-based E-Smart (www.esmartcontrol.com) provides speed management technology to the transportation industry, reducing the risk and liability from speed violations and speed-related crashes. Fleets deploying E-Smart see improved CSA scores and decreased fuel consumption. Other features include low bridge collision prevention, speed controlled geofence zones and remote vehicle immobilisation.
