Geek+ is transforming Tahuhu’s Hong Kong warehouse into a cold-chain facility powered by robotics, setting standards for efficiency, safety and scalability.
With growing demands for faster deliveries, stricter temperature control and operational precision, Tahuhu has embraced automation to address these problems and optimise its cold-chain logistics processes. It has bought Geek+ cold store autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), low-temperature four-way shuttle robots and automated vertical lifts to improve its operations.
“The cold-chain industry is evolving rapidly, and automation has helped us deliver better, faster and more reliably,” said Reggie Fung, general manager of Tahuhu.
A recent survey conducted by Geek+, evaluating the impact of its automation at Tahuhu, revealed:
- 100% positive feedback: Respondents reported measurable improvements across storage optimisation, operational efficiency and temperature compliance.
- 60% reduction in manual labour: Automation reduced repetitive tasks, enabling staff to focus on higher-value activities.
- 30% increase in storage capacity: Optimised space use allows Tahuhu to handle more temperature-sensitive goods.
- 24/7 operational capability: Geek+ technology ensures continuous operations to meet growing user demands.
- Above-expectation performance: Tahuhu’s team reported automation exceeded expectations in key areas such as order fulfilment speed and labour efficiency.
Tahuhu manages goods across three temperature zones – 0 to 4, -18 and -25˚C – while maintaining temperature consistency and reducing contamination risks. Geek+’s energy-efficient offerings also align with Tahuhu’s sustainability goals, reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
“Whether it’s ice cream, fruits or frozen meat, Geek+ helps us maintain the highest quality standards,” said Fung.
Building on its success, Tahuhu (www.tahuhu.com.hk) plans to expand its automation capabilities with Geek+ products such as RoboShuttle and SkyCube to enhance scalability and efficiency.
