Logistics giant FedEx is giving its customers access to digital visibility products that enhance the shipper and recipient experience by linking to critical data.

These paid-for offerings help meet the growing market demand for data analytics and should equip businesses with near real-time insights and predictive analytics to help improve the post-purchase experience for their customers.

This brings together existing tracking integrations and paid features via webhook technology, including picture proof of delivery, enhanced delivery estimates, and GPS coordinates for proof of delivery.

Together, the digital visibility products provide merchants with event-driven data on in-transit shipment status and recipient delivery that help improve customer service, reduce cost to serve, and build better customer service. Shippers continue to access free tracking integrations through FedEx Track API, a tool that allows businesses of all sizes to integrate tracking capabilities seamlessly into their own systems and provide their customers with real-time updates and detailed shipping information.

FedEx (www.fedex.com) will also offer paid data integration for shipment tracking information for third-party providers. This will include access to Track API, Track EDI and the webhook subscriptions to enable premium post-purchase tracking and supply chain visibility.

By leveraging these data, third-party providers can offer specialised services that enhance the tracking experience and create and sell comprehensive visibility options tailored to various business needs.
