At this month’s Enlit Europe in Spain, Sequans and Thales will demonstrate the latest GSMA SGP.32 standard with a Thales eSIM and a Sequans Monarch LTE-M and NB-IoT module, enabling in-factory and remote provisioning at scale.

This partnership brings together the strengths of two companies to offer a future-proof, secure and efficient option for utility operators.

Utilities are facing increasing demands for reliable, low-power and secure connectivity. With the rapid growth of smart meters, sensors and IoT-enabled infrastructure, managing a vast network of connected devices efficiently has never been more critical.

Recognising this need, Sequans and Thales have combined their expertise to deliver a method that meets the evolving demands of the energy and water sectors.

By integrating Sequans’ low-power LTE-M, NB-IoT and Cat 1bis products – with a seamless roadmap to 5G eRedCap – with Thales’ SGP.32 technology, this joint offering is said to deliver a new standard in utility connectivity.

Utilities can now activate and manage connected devices with ease, reducing manual intervention and operational overhead. From deployment to decommissioning, it enables streamlined operations, making it easier to maintain large-scale networks of devices. Leveraging GSMA eSA-certified technology, the platform ensures robust, end-to-end security for all connected devices, safeguarding critical infrastructure.

Sequans and Thales are transforming the future of smart utilities with a joint offering built on GSMA SGP.32. Combining secure eSIM technology with a generic IoT SKU, this enables seamless device provisioning both in-factory and remotely at scale. Designed for energy efficiency, security and reliability, it empowers utilities to accelerate digital transformation, optimise operations and future-proof their infrastructure.
