Sigfox is moving into the UAE IoT market following an MoU signed with InfraX, a subsidiary of the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa), at this month’s Gitex trade show in Dubai.

InfraX is a subsidiary of Digital Dewa, the digital arm of the electricity and water authority. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with UnaBiz, massive IoT service provider and the owner of Sigfox.

The MoU will pave the way for joint collaborations between the parties that will see UnaBiz engaging the UAE market under the InfraX umbrella to provide custom designed IoT offerings that are energy efficient, scalable and simple to deploy.

According to IoT Analytics, in 2022, the global IoT market will grow 18% to 14.4 billion active connections and reach 27 billion connected IoT devices by 2025.

The signing ceremony took place between Rashid Alahmedi, COO of InfraX, and Phillippe Chiu, co-CEO of UnaBiz.
