Taiwanese firm Aetina has launched platforms powered by the Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin for artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision in smart city and smart retail applications.

The AGX Orin module delivers up to 275Tops of AI performance, providing up to eight times the performance of the Jetson AGX Xavier. Aetina’s AGX Orin-powered edge AI computers are suitable for various AI systems in smart cities, smart factories, smart healthcare and smart retail.

The latest Jetson systems and platforms – AIE-KX and AIB-MX series – provide different expansion options including one M.2 B-Key slot for LTE and 5G, an M.2 E-Key slot for wifi, Bluetooth and GPS, and an M.2 M-Key slot for storage upgrade. They have a flexible input power range from 9 to 36V DC, as well as an integrated fan to help keep cool enough to operate in temperatures from -25 to at least +70˚C.

Some models of AIE-KX and AIB-MX series support Innodisk’s out-of-band (OOB) remote management module, and have a 1GbE, 10GbE and two or four IEEE 802.3af GbE PSE ports, while the other models have GbE and 10GbE LAN ports. With the 10GbE LAN port, these models offer data speed up to ten billion bits per second through an external sensor.

The AIE-KX and AIB-MX, as with other Aetina’s platforms based on Nvidia Jetson, are compatible with various peripheral hardware devices, making them capable of fitting different AI applications.

Besides the standard models, Aetina provides customised carrier boards and computer cases for any AI developers who have a particular need of IO connectors and expansion slots. The customisation service also applies to other Aetina products powered by Jetson, helping AI partners of Aetina build AI-powered systems that require different kinds of sensors and function upgrades.

As an Elite member of the Nvidia Partner Network, Aetina offers AI computers that support many systems-on-module (SoMs) from the Jetson family, including Nano, TX2 NX, Xavier NX and AGX Xavier. Aetina plans to launch systems and platforms that are powered by Jetson Orin NX and Orin Nano soon to bring more edge computing to the global market.
