Malaysia and China have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on urban planning, and smart cities.

The two countries will explore cooperation in smart housing, urban redevelopment, urban mobility, urban liveability, urban sustainability, and smart city profiling.

Both countries will also explore smart solutions and services for urban operations and management, smart construction and certification of smart cities.

“Through this MOU, both countries will benefit from expertise sharing, best practices, and collaboration in significant initiatives and projects,” Malaysia’s Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said. “The exchange of the MOU on the housing and urban development sector is seen as a strategic and significant cooperation between Malaysia and China.”
