Madrid City Council has awarded a contract to Atos for the maintenance, evolution, and support services of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform.
The three-year contract, with an option for a one-year extension, aims to optimise administrative processes, improve municipal services, and provide citizens with more efficient, proactive, and personalised services. The AI platform will be used to develop an ecosystem of artificial intelligence agents that can help citizens resolve their needs through the Madrid City Council.
According to the contract, Atos will provide corrective, adaptive, and evolutionary maintenance of the AI platform, as well as operational support to users and the Computer and Communications Service of the Madrid City Council (Easydro). The company will also promote excellence in AI use through technological surveillance, innovation, and training for council staff.
Atos has developed several use cases for the platform, including Clear Communication and Pipeline of Documentary Objects. Clear Communication aims to improve administrative text writing by analysing context and suggesting reformulations. Pipeline of Documentary Objects allows for automatic processing of audio, video, and text files, generating vector representations that facilitate semantic searches.
The project is part of the Madrid Artificial Intelligence Initiative (MAIA) aimed at accelerating AI implementation in municipal processes.
“Madrid City Council works to improve daily life for its citizens,” said José Miguel González Aguilera, Deputy Director General of Innovation and Emerging Services. “We believe AI can transform municipal services.”
Diego Padilla, Project Manager at Atos, stated: “This contract reinforces our commitment to trustworthy, ethical, and useful AI for citizens.”
