KT provides tech for Indonesia’s new capital

South Korean mobile carrier KT Corp is working with Indonesia’s Public Telecoms Operator Telkom Indonesia to develop a smart city project for the country’s new capital city, Nusantara on Borneo, which will replace the country’s current capital of Jakarta.
KT will share technologies on quantum cryptography communication and cybersecurity with Telkom. The technologies will support the creation of a smart city infrastructure in Nusantara.
KT and Telkom are also discussing related supporting projects for the new city including data centres, transportation, energy and artificial intelligence.
