Gorilla in Thames Freeport Smart City drive

IoT technology developer Gorilla Technology has partnered Thames Freeport, a major trade and logistics hub in the United Kingdom. The partnership will build on a smart city strategy anchored by the Thames Freeport Investment Fund to drive smart city innovation. Gorilla Technology will spearhead development of technological frameworks within Thames Freeport’s infrastructure, focusing on logistics efficiency, security and sustainability. The collaboration is being heralded as a major step in the Freeport’s aim of becoming a fully integrated smart city.

Thames Freeport is a trade and logistics hub that is set to become the largest port in the UK. With 1,700 acres of development land along the Thames River, the Freeport provides major port capacity with significant planned expansions, global shipping connections and a supportive ecosystem and supply chain. It also provides extensive onward transport connections by road, river and rail to major population centres.

Objectives of the Partnership include supporting extending and expanding the Freeport’s strategic trade partnerships, technology integration to streamline operations, enhance security measures, and improve logistical efficiency.

The two partners will collaborate on development of a smart city strategy to support sustainable growth and innovation.
