Montreal-based Genetec has launched Cloudrunner Mobile, a companion app for its vehicle-centric investigation system, Cloudrunner.

The app provides law enforcement with secure mobile device access to vehicle data and alerts. Users can log in using biometric authentication, run vehicle searches, view alerts, and manage hot-lists.

Cloudrunner Mobile uses automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) and analytics to capture and organise vehicle data, which is stored securely in the cloud. Authorised users can search, filter, and correlate relevant data to support investigations.

The app includes real-time push notifications for investigators, allowing them to respond quickly to important information while on patrol or investigating an incident. Users can also pause notifications when off duty, with recent activity saved for later review.

According to Captain Craig Kreiling of the Hopkins, Minnesota Police Department, “The push notifications give us everything we need at a glance – plate number, state, and hotlist category so that we can act faster and stay focused on what matters most.”

Cloudrunner Mobile is available immediately to existing Genetec Cloudrunner customers in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The app can be downloaded through the App Store and Google Play.
