Axis Communications has launched an edge analytic system to improve security, policing and safety in cities. The new edge system combines 180° radar detection and 180° panoramic multisensor images for improved situational awareness with minimum false alarms.
The AXIS Radar Data Visualizer is designed for monitoring large open areas. It can accurately detect people up to 60 meters (200 feet) and vehicles up to 85 meters (280 feet).
AXIS Radar Data Visualizer is complementary to the functionality of Axis panoramic multisensor cameras. This analytic application uses radar data to detect and classify people and vehicles more accurately.
It collects and processes this radar data and presents it as visual, customisable overlays in the camera feed. Data can also be used to trigger events. For instance it’s possible to activate strobe lights, trigger alarms, or start camera recordings whenever an object crosses a predefined virtual line in the camera view.
It can be connected to supported panoramic cameras for visual verification with 180° coverage without any blind spots.
Key features include:
- Improved scene awareness with reliable detection 24/7
- Detect people up to 60 meters (200 feet)
- Detect vehicles up to 85 meters (280 feet)
- 180° coverage with no blind spots
- Trigger events based on radar data
Using radar technology this analytic application offers more cost-effective operations and accurate detection.
With area and line-crossing detection it’s possible to trigger an event whenever an object moves within a defined area or crosses a predefined virtual line in a defined direction. Additionally, it is possible to display the speed of passing vehicles in the overlay.
