C&H Associates, a US company, has revealed plans to construct a “smart city” in Nurafshan, Uzbekistan, representing a potential investment of $10–15 billion. The announcement was made by the Tashkent regional “khokimiyat” (city administration) following a meeting between regional leader (“khokim”) Zoir Mirzayev and Ronald Hubbard, director of C&H Associates.

Spanning 1,600 hectares, the proposed smart city aims to integrate advanced infrastructure and technology to foster a high standard of living.

Key features of the project include government buildings, medical and educational facilities, and industrial zones, designed to create a self-sustaining environment conducive to economic growth.

The plans also include construction of a plant dedicated to producing building materials from locally-sourced resources, benefiting both the city’s development and the wider regional economy. C&H also propose improved connectivity between Tashkent and Nurafshan through the introduction of high-speed trains, reducing travel time and improving commutes.

C&H Associates aims to secure over 15 partners and investors, leveraging their expertise for successful implementation. A memorandum of cooperation has been signed, formalising the commitment of the parties involved.

With four decades of experience in residential and commercial property design and construction, C&H Associates has a diverse portfolio encompassing airports, hotels, universities, and shopping centres.
