Californian IoT developer Tuya Smart is helping German electrical goods maker MTS Group create a healthy and comfortable smart living environment for consumers.

MTS has expanded its business scope into the field of smart homes with its own smart brand Unitec. Supported by Tuya technology, Unitec has introduced various smart home products, including smart switches, lighting, security and heating controllers. All the smart products developed based on Tuya technology have the label ‘Powered by Tuya’ on their sales package.

Powered by Tuya (PBT) is a mark of interconnectivity across different brands and categories. Users can control any product with the PBT label with one app.

Tuya will continue to provide MTS with technical support and help it expand its smart product lines to meet the changing needs of consumers. MTS will also leverage various online and offline channel resources for brand promotion and let more people know about the advantages of Unitec products.

“The partnership with Tuya strengthens our capability in smart home, enabling our products to quickly enter the IoT market, and get interconnected with smart products from other manufacturers and of different categories,” said Raphael Wetzel, category manager of electrical installation material at MTS Group. “That effectively sharpens our edge in the market.”

Tina Yu, general manager of the Eurasia region for Tuya Smart, added: “The deep cooperation with MTS Group helps strengthen both companies, bringing innovative smart home products to consumers looking for a healthier and more convenient lifestyle. In the future, the two sides will jointly explore commercial applications and market opportunities of smart products.”

MTS Group, headquartered in Germany, is a manufacturer of branded products. Unitec is an electrical item supplier with more than 2000 products, including car accessories, car care, bicycles and bicycle accessories, electrical installation materials, and work wears.

UK ecommerce platform Buy It Direct is integrating Tuya’s MCU low-code development kit into its own application code so it can be quickly incorporated into devices by calling related interfaces. To make the development process simpler, Tuya also provides a SoC development-free offering, so Buy It Direct only needs to add the control module to the device control box to develop products quickly and at a lower cost.
