Korean manufacturer Solity has created what it claims is the world’s first push-pull gate and door smart lock system. The Matter-enabled lock was launched at this month’s IT Show in Singapore.

The push-pull locking mechanism, enhanced with a motorised roller latch, ensures a seamless and effortless unlocking experience. It uses 3D facial recognition with AI deep learning for accurate, adaptive authentication, and is Matter-compatible, ensuring seamless connectivity across Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple Home and other smart-home platforms.

Solity, with over 40 years of expertise in security, has integrated the door (GEA-1000K) and gate (G1), which allows doors and gates to be unlocked from either side making the experience more seamless and intuitive.

The facial recognition system, which leverages a 3D lens and AI deep learning technology, delivers fast and accurate authentication for homeowners to unlock their doors without the need to rely on physical keys or tapping in a PIN code. Unlike standard biometric systems, this AI-driven option continuously improves its recognition accuracy over time, adapting to different lighting conditions, angles and even slight facial changes, ensuring secure and effortless access.

With Matter compatibility, the G1 and GEA-1000K offers connectivity across multiple smart-home platforms, ensuring a seamless user experience across Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Apple Home. This eliminates the need for multiple apps and complex setups, allowing homeowners to control, monitor and automate their security system from one platform. It also provides interoperability, ensuring long-term compatibility with future smart-home innovations.
