Four days of online IoT conference programming in September and October are being planned by the IoT M2M Council (IMC) for adopters of IoT technology, with topics covering consumer and industrial applications for the IoT.

The IMC – a community of 25,000 enterprise users and product makers that buy IoT technology – will hold its first IoT Days event on four successive Thursdays, starting on 10 September 2020. IoT providers of all kinds are encouraged to participate as speakers and sponsors of the event.

The event on Thursday 17 September will take a special look at IoT in smart homes.

“We held our first full conference programme online in April with great results,” said Sara Brown, IMC chair and VP of marketing at MultiTech. “We rushed to put that April event together when several trade shows were cancelled, and it covered primarily industrial IoT topics. With relatively little time to promote it, we drew over 700 registrants, more than 70% of whom identified as buyers of IoT technology. We’re confident that we can improve on those results in September.”

Success has led the IMC to expand the event’s scope, going beyond the industrial theme with coverage of consumer IoT topics, such as wearables, the automotive sector and the smart home on separate days. Companies that are not represented on the IMC board of governors will be allowed to participate in the conference at a premium.

The bulk of the audience is again expected to come from the group’s rank-and-file membership of 25,000 qualified IoT buyers from 24 different B2B markets.

“The IMC has long been one of the industry’s strongest webinar platforms,” said Brown. “With Covid-19 lockdowns increasing the popularity of online events, we continue our commitment to deliver great content, with sessions covering 5G, AI, public cloud, edge compute, IoT in the supply chain. To get an audience comprised of 70% buyers at an event like this is almost unheard of. We intend to provide a platform for solutions providers to communicate with IoT adopters that need us during this difficult time.”
