Connecticut-based Siemon hopes to give owners and operators a complete, proven framework to design, build and operate smarter, more efficient building and campus environments.

The company has launched Smart Building Complete, a unified connectivity and cabling offering engineered to power and connect critical technologies shaping modern workplaces. From wifi and security to AV, access control, sensors and more, it uses PowerGuard+ technology and provides extended reach up to 200m.

This reduces the cost and complexity of deployment by helping eliminate the need for telecommunications space and associated equipment, power, cooling and maintenance.

Designed to mitigate harmful heat rise and maintain performance at operating temperatures up to 75˚C, the patented, third-party verified connectivity and cabling improves reliability for a smart building’s foundation with seamless delivery of power and data to connected devices.

The package pairs proven technology with the launch of a suite of practical, easy-to-use planning and design tools to simplify specification and accelerate deployment for customers, designers and planners.

A cabling reach calculator helps determine the right cable type, based on specific real-world installation conditions and for the distance required to power and connect each end device. This is especially important when planning for distances beyond 100m. The wired for wifi tool identifies equipment manufacturers’ requirements and guides users on how to connect a specific wireless access point with the right cabling and products. Finally, the backbone speed calculator assists with the plan and design of the fibre backbone required to support a wifi deployment of any size.

Smart building operators must prioritise sustainability because it lowers energy use and operating costs, reduces carbon emissions, and improves occupant comfort and health. Through energy-optimising technologies and transparent reporting, Smart Building Complete helps operators achieve green building certifications. Transparency through health and environmental product declarations (HPDs and EPDs) is a core focus, paired with alignment to standards such as Leed, Breeam, LBC and Well, delivering cost efficiencies and healthier, high-performing spaces.

“Modern commercial buildings and campuses must deliver more than just space,” said Trey Somers, vice president at Siemon. “They are expected to create safe, efficient and engaging environments that support the people inside them while maximising facility value for those who operate them. Smart Building Complete – through its PowerGuard+ technology, extensive application support and a commitment to sustainability – helps building owners and operators create dynamic, future-ready workplaces for a more sustainable tomorrow.”
