The Shelly Group AD,  a provider of IoT and smart building solutions based in Sofia, Bulgaria, has completed Samsung SmartThings certification of Wave Plug US.

Shelly’s Wave Plug US is a smart plug that uses the Z-Wave wireless communications protocol. Its power metering capability allows users to automate and remotely control devices such as space heaters, irons, TVs, or any other connected electrical appliance with a power capacity of up to 1800 W at 15 A. Users simply plug their standard space heater into Wave Plug US, enabling them to switch it on and off at any time and from anywhere with a single click on their mobile phones.

Z-Wave allows smart home products to seamlessly communicate with each other regardless of their brand or platform via a centralized smart hub. Shelly’s Wave devices work on the latest Z-Wave chip generation (S800).

Samsung SmartThings is a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics. It offers a free app for Apple iOS or Android that connects to smart devices based on the Matter protocol via Wi-Fi.
