Thailand’s One Bangkok development is implementing Honeywell technologies to increase its digital building transformation.
The landmark Bangkok development will implement Honeywell Forge for Buildings to help deliver improved operational and sustainability outcomes.
This is an expansion of Honeywell’s long-standing partnership with TCC Group to implement Honeywell Forge for Buildings at One Bangkok, the largest holistically integrated district in the heart of Bangkok to deliver energy-efficient buildings, improved building performance and a more sustainable district.
Jointly developed by TCC Assets and Frasers Property Holdings., One Bangkok is an integrated development comprising five premium Grade A office towers, four distinct retail precincts, five luxury and lifestyle hotels, and three luxury residential towers, developed under the values of people-centric, sustainability and smart-city living.
“In today’s corporate real-estate environment, property developers are facing several challenges to develop sustainable buildings and reduce their carbon emissions,” said Anthony Arundell, senior vice president at One Bangkok.
One Bangkok is designed with smart city and sustainable infrastructure, incorporating technology to become Thailand’s first project to achieve Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification.
According to Teerapan Luengnaruemitchai, managing director of TCC Technology, the organisation envisions supporting One Bangkok in the areas of technological advancement, sustainability, connectivity, community engagement and improving the quality of life for its residents. Honeywell’s strengths in implementing industrial IoT products should enable insights that enhance operational efficiency and performance.
Many buildings managers and real-estate developers face pressing needs to curb energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions. Research shows commercial buildings account for almost a third of global energy consumption and 37% of global energy-related CO2 emissions, with 28% of those emissions related to building operations. Honeywell’s products can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save energy, measure and reduce carbon impact, and support the adoption of renewable energy sources.
“Honeywell is honoured to be part of this first-of-its-kind development in the region,” said Sadiq Syed, vice president at Honeywell Connected Buildings. “Through carefully evaluating the requirements of One Bangkok, we understand that balancing cost and occupant comfort is key for achieving a sustainable environment. We look forward to continuously providing ready-now technology to our partners in the region in our mission to support sustainability efforts across the globe.”
Honeywell Forge for Buildings features software, hardware and services to help building owners and operators implement predictive maintenance, optimise energy consumption and develop a more sustainable environment.
Honeywell’s (www.honeywell.com) building technologies division has operations in more than 75 countries supported by a global channel partner network. Its products and services are used in more than ten million buildings worldwide.
One Bangkok (www.onebangkok.com) is the largest holistically integrated district in the heart of Bangkok with an investment value of over THB120bn on a total land area of 108 rai or 1.9 million square metres. Located at the corner of Wireless Road and Rama 4 Road with direct linkages to the city’s mass transit systems, One Bangkok comprises workplaces of the future, a retail loop, luxury residences, five-star hospitality, a live entertainment arena, the presence of art and culture, and a vast, welcoming public realm that covers 50 rai of the district.
