Smart home firm Govee has introduced its first Matter-enabled product, a two-metre LED strip light.

As the Washington company’s first product that supports Matter, it was created to achieve better interconnection for users no matter their preferred smart home platform.

Users can easily and securely pair it with Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings. It also provides a one-of-a-kind way to light up any space through upgraded RGBIC+ technology, increased beads per metre for luminosity, better-segmented control, intuitive music syncing, customisable colours and unique modes.

Users no longer have to be tied to specific platforms as this works with all certified smart home platforms across Apple, Amazon, Google and Samsung. While Govee has long supported several smart home ecosystems, Matter allows the smart lights to pair seamlessly with Apple HomeKit for the first time. Once connected via Matter, users can control the product using their preferred platform to turn the device on and off and change the colour, temperature and brightness settings. In addition, Matter provides increased security, as all Matter devices must meet stringent security requirements.

Based on Govee’s RGBIC+ technology, a four-in-one chip, and 60 light beads per metre, it is said to have the highest luminosity of any 2m strip light on the market. The product is comprised of ten IC (independent control) chips and up to 50 adjustable points per metre to provide control and versatility for product positioning.

There are more than 64 light modes so users can experience versatility and control through multiple modes of lighting effects for customisable settings such as fade, twinkle, stream and flow.

To create an immersive experience for users, DreamView technology lets users intuitively sync the light effects of this device to other Govee smart lights within the ecosystem. Users can also purchase an extension kit to double the length of the strip light since it is spliceable.

To get the full customisation and functionality out of the new product, users can use the Govee Home app to have a personalised entertainment experience. With more than 200 preset scene modes and DreamView, users can create a customisable entertainment space.
