Swedish firm Shortcut Labs has promised to make all its Flic smart home products Matter compatible.

Shortcut Labs had previously announced that its latest product, Flic Twist, would have Matter support. Following the success of the Kickstarter campaign of Flic Twist, the company has now committed to making all products connected via a Flic Hub compatible with Matter, including old products.

The company has also joined the Matter Alliance as part of its promise to make all products – new and old – Matter compliant so they are easier to set up, use and own.

Shortcut Labs make digital services more accessible and easier to use by providing intuitive physical controllers. It says it joined the Matter ecosystem to make its technology even more accessible and easier to use than before.

Matter is a connectivity standard aiming for all smart home devices to be fully accessible and usable across different ecosystems, therefore removing the thought process of whether different brands or apps are compatible.

This integration means Flic controllers can now control any device that is also Matter enabled, opening up the doors of full industry connectivity and breaking down any compatibility walls.

Shortcut Labs says it will distribute Matter compatibility as an automatic software update upon release.
