California-based Enlighted, a proptech company owned by Siemens, has expanded the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in its location intelligence offering.
With the introduction of AI models to its real-time location services (RTLS), it has improved the accuracy of finding assets and personnel to greater than 98 per cent. These AI capabilities build on its existing temperature control mobile app that allows occupants to control workplace comfort.
Enlighted’s AI is part of the Siemens Xcelerator marketplace, an open digital business platform to accelerate digital transformation.
Enlighted has also expanded its partner ecosystem with participants who bring AI applications, machine-learning tools and platforms that extend the value from vast volumes of time-series IoT building data. Added partners include Tagnos, a healthcare provider, and Zan Compute, a smart building systems provider.
“Sensors in smart buildings collect an enormous amount of data,” said Stefan Schwab, CEO of Enlighted. “AI-based applications are a transformative way for commercial buildings to maximise and use this data, optimising efficiency while improving the occupant experience. The capabilities and partnerships we unveiled demonstrate that Enlighted is continuously innovating and expanding its offerings with the most advanced technology.”
The location intelligence is a machine-learning (ML) platform that tracks the location and movement of assets and badges using existing intelligent lighting infrastructures. It empowers businesses across industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, industrial and more, to optimise their operations, better control inventory and improve occupant safety and well-being.
Added AI models enable more than 98 per cent accuracy, improving on traditional, simple triangulation methods that provide 80 per cent accuracy. Such accuracy can be critical in healthcare and manufacturing, where understanding the exact location is essential for many use cases. The enhanced system reduces implementation costs via existing Bluetooth-enabled lighting control sensors.
“IoT- based asset tracking and process flow improvements will make our headquarters truly a smart building,” said Rajan Mehta, chief technology officer at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) “The Enlighted RTLS is an important aspect for WWE. One of the key things for production and content creation is our memorabilia. We have a significant amount of inventory, and having this inventory management system is key for us.”
The RTLS offering joins Enlighted’s ML-driven environmental control that lets users increase the heat or air conditioning in their own zoned area via a mobile app, saving on facilities calls and energy costs while contributing to sustainability. Employee requests act as votes, with machine learning identifying preference patterns, adjusting the building’s temperature setpoints and teaching the building’s HVAC system to adjust temperatures autonomously.
According to Memoori in a recent report, nearly 50 per cent of employees want the ability to set the temperature in their workspace. As previously remote employees return to the office full or part time, they are looking to their office to provide services that enhance the flexibility, comfort, productivity and personalisation of their in-office experience.
Enlighted’s AI and ML application partners, who are solving customer business problems with their applications, include Tagnos and Zan Compute. Tagnos is using Enlighted’s AI generated RTLS location data as part of its healthcare orchestration platform to drive patient care and asset tracking workflows in hospitals.Zan Compute is using Enlighted occupancy data to guide cleaning activity, reducing building cleaning costs and improving occupant experience. It also uses AI analytics to predict and optimise cleaning workloads and resource requirements.
“Enlighted and Zan Compute’s partnership is transforming the cleaning industry to be data driven, ushering in a new era of AI driven custodial process,” said Junaith Ahemed Shahabdeen, CEO of Zan Compute.
Sheila Minton, CEO of Tagnos, added: “Tagnos and Enlighted have formed an exciting new partnership to improve healthcare operational workflows and to empower staff to focus their time on delivering high quality patient care. Enlighted’s AI, location data and tags provide critical enabling data to the Tagnos software suite for asset management, patient throughput optimisation and operational situational awareness.”
