Water, waste, and energy management firm Veolia has selected a consortium represented by Eiffage Génie Civil and the Chantiers Modernes Construction subsidiary of VINCI Constructionfor the civil engineering design and build of three water treatment plants. This contract, worth more than €400 million, was awarded to Veolia by Syndicat des Eaux d’Île-de-France (SEDIF) to manage public drinking water services in Île-de-France region.
The contract includes the design and construction of building frameworks for the new low-pressure reverse osmosis (LPRO) treatment plants, the upgrading of power supply for the water treatment plants in Neuilly-sur-Marne and Choisy-le-Roi, and the conversion of the Méry-sur-Oise plant to equip it with the LPRO technology.
The LPRO streams include membrane buildings, associated reactive buildings, a Multiflo decantation (wastewater treatment) facility, and their connection networks and infrastructure. The overhaul of plants power supply includes high-voltage transformer substations, upgrades to existing substations, and the high-voltage connection networks and infrastructure.
The combination of LPRO and nanofiltration will offer micropollutant filtration and preserve minerality to provide safe water. All of the water produced will be treated using the membranes with no remineralization necessary and without the need for chlorination.
