Bosch buys building automation firm Hörburger

Bosch is to acquire building automation company Hörburger, headquartered in Waltenhofen, Bavaria, Germany.

Bosch and the owners of Hörburger signed corresponding agreements at the end of 2021.

Hörburger offers a portfolio of products focusing on building automation and energy management. The company has 45 years of experience in planning and implementing projects and providing services in this area. A major focus of its activities is the efficient and sustainable operation of buildings.

Its technology is used in numerous sectors, for example in large industrial companies, healthcare facilities and retail chains. Hörburger has more than 200 employees at six locations in Germany and one location in Romania, and generated sales of €33m in 2020.

The acquisition is subject to the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities. The companies have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Bosch Building Technologies is a supplier of security, safety and communications products and systems. In selected countries Bosch offers services for building security, energy efficiency and building automation. About 8800 associates generated sales of €1.9bn in 2020.

The product portfolio includes video security, intrusion detection, fire detection and voice evacuation systems as well as access control and management systems. Professional audio and conference systems for communication of voice, sound and music complete the range. The division develops and manufactures in its own plants in Europe, Americas and Asia.
