Lithuanian fleet and IoT software platform Wialon has integrated Surfsight, an AI dashcam from video safety and video telematics provider Lytx.
Wialon helps connect and track over four million fleet vehicles in 160 countries, while California-based Lytx connects more than 5.5 million drivers and thousands of fleets in 90 countries, including through five of the ten largest carriers in North America.
The integration will enable Wialon’s partners and customers to detect and mitigate road safety risks and improve fleet performance and fleet safety.
Lytx’s AI-powered Surfsight, which integrates with existing telematics platforms via an API, is already accessible via Wialon. Fleets now also have the option to install Lytx’s DriveCam dashcam, providing them with an all-in-one video safety option. Fleets can use Lytx’s technology to identify risky driving behaviour such as smoking, eating or mobile phone use. On detection, the camera will send audio and visual alerts to the driver to help them self-correct in the moment, before an incident occurs.
By keeping drivers and other road users safe, the integration will also help fleets reduce maintenance costs and insurance claims, lower emissions, and prevent unnecessary downtime. The DriveCam and Surfsight offering will be accessible via Wialon’s platform alongside a range of tools that help fleets digitise and streamline their operations, including options for driver behaviour monitoring, fuel management, route optimisation and real-time vehicle tracking.
“Keeping fleet operations running safely and efficiently is a challenge shared by businesses across many industries and regions,” says Klaus Burgstaller, partner development manager at Lytx. “Through our integration with Wialon, we’re combining our expertise in safety and telematics to provide fleets with a comprehensive option that empowers drivers and gives fleet managers visibility over the data that matter most.”
Aliaksandr Kuushynau, head of Wialon, added: “Worldwide demand for video telematics is accelerating, and the integration with Lytx is a direct response to this. On Wialon, the number of vehicles equipped with connected video grew by more than 80% in 2024, with a further 45% surge already recorded in the first half of 2025. For our thousands of partners and integrators, it’s about having a powerful, easy-to-deploy option that simplifies how they deliver fleet intelligence. For fleet owners, it means a clearer view of driver safety and proactive incident prevention. For everyone, it’s about smarter, more efficient operations on a global scale.”
