Vodafone IoT SIM card self management grows in Ukraine

Vodafone has seen a significant increase in the number of users in the Ukraine of the My Vodafone platform for self-management of SIM cards with IoT tariffs.

More than 70% of cards are already automatically managed on the platform.

Over the past two years, Vodafone has introduced 15 functionalities to simplify and automate the process of managing IoT SIM cards. This allows IoT service customers to use human and material resources effectively.

The top three most popular features are geo-functionality for IoT, remote checking of IoT SIM card connection status and API functionality.

Geo-functionality for IoT (business.vodafone.ua/produkty/iot/geomonitoring/mongeozony) lets users control the location of their devices and, in the event of their unauthorised movement, receive notifications from the operator and make decisions on how to respond to such an event. This functionality is particularly popular among banks due to automatic monitoring of terminals. One of the urgent needs today is to prevent illegal use of equipment outside the territory controlled by Ukraine.

Remotely checking the IoT SIM card connection status significantly reduces the time and costs for companies to find and resolve communication problems. The functionality allows users to diagnose the operation of the IoT card and its registration in the network and, if necessary, reboot it independently and remotely. This eliminates the need to send a command to the location of the incorrectly working device.

API functionality (business.vodafone.ua/produkty/iot/api) solves the problem of resource optimisation. It provides the ability to manage SIM cards automatically, without involving additional personnel, and integrate the interaction process with internal customer systems.
